This privacy policy explains how Simone’s Kitchen collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit our website (simoneskitchen.com), make a reservation, book a stay, place a webshop order, or otherwise interact with us.

We take your privacy seriously and comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.

Each entity acts as data controller for the services it operates. For all GDPR-related requests, you may contact either entity at the email or postal address above โ€” we will route your request to the correct controller internally.


2. What personal data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to deliver the service you have requested.

Restaurant reservations

Name, email address, phone number, party size, date and time of reservation, and any dietary or accessibility notes you choose to share.

Bed & breakfast bookings

Name, email address, phone number, postal address, dates of stay, number of guests, and (where required by Belgian law) identification details for guest registration with the local authorities.

Webshop pickup orders

Name, email address, phone number, order content, and pickup date.

Email and phone enquiries

Whatever information you choose to include in your message.

Website usage data

When you visit simoneskitchen.com, our hosting provider and analytics tools may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. We do not collect special categories of personal data (health, ethnicity, religion, etc.) except where you voluntarily share dietary or allergy information needed to deliver your meal safely.

4. How long we keep it

  • Reservation and order data: kept for 12 months after the date of service for customer service and dispute resolution, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Accounting records: kept for 7 years as required by Belgian tax law.
  • B&B guest registration data: kept for the legally required period under Flemish tourist accommodation regulations.
  • Email correspondence: kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, plus a reasonable archival period.
  • Website analytics: retained in aggregated form; individual session data is not retained beyond what our analytics provider’s default retention allows.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We share data only with the service providers that help us deliver our services (“processors”), each bound by a data processing agreement:

Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure an adequate level of protection through Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

We may also disclose data to public authorities where legally required (e.g. tax authorities, food safety inspectors, or in response to a valid court order).


6. How we protect your data

  • All website traffic is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Reservation and order data is stored in EU-hosted databases with access restricted to authorised staff using individual credentials.
  • Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
  • We apply the principle of data minimisation: we collect only what is strictly necessary.
  • Staff with access to personal data are bound by confidentiality obligations.

No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the Belgian Data Protection Authority as required under Articles 33 and 34 GDPR.


7. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access โ€” request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification โ€” ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) โ€” ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Restriction โ€” ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Portability โ€” receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection โ€” object to processing based on legitimate interest, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent โ€” where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
